Isabelle Sharon

Data-Centric Legal Analyst, Global Data Innovation

Isabelle Sharon has a robust academic and professional background at the intersection of tech and governance, across both public and private sectors. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Brown University in December 2023 with a double major in Computer Science and International Relations. During her time at Brown, she was a teaching assistant in the Computer Science department, and she studied under the mentorship of Brown faculty in the law, AI, and cybersecurity fields, such as Professor Ari Gabinet, Tim Edgar, and Dr. Suresh Venkatasubramanian, co-author of the White House AI Bill of Rights.

Isabelle's academic journey was complemented by internships at leading tech companies and policy-related work at the Brookings Institution, where she researched extremism on online platforms. In connection with that effort, Isabelle automated a process for transcribing podcasts by developing a coding pipeline and integrating open-source speech recognition software that eliminated costs while attaining 96% accuracy. She used Python and Pandas to analyze comments on tweets from 80 political podcasters using Vader sentiment analysis and broke down by partisanship, popularity, and other metrics. Her data analysis and editorial contributions were integrated into a 30+ page Brookings report on misinformation in political podcasting. During that time, she also created presentations on web scraping and big data analysis, which will be made available to all Brookings staff.

Following graduation, Isabelle joined Booz Allen Hamilton as a Data Scientist where she worked on Generative AI and data science projects for US government clients.  During her Senior Year at Brown University and again after graduation while at Booz Allen, Isabelle played a pivotal role on the planning committee for the Digital Trust Summit, working closely with the Summit's founder Dominique Shelton Leipzig. She was instrumental in preparing the program, collaborating with prestigious speakers, including three U.S. Senators, United Nations representatives, and CEOs of Fortune 500 companies.

Additionally, Isabelle has engaged in significant thought leadership. She contributed to the research and organization of the award-winning Forbes book "Trust, Responsible AI, Innovation, Privacy and Data Leadership," and edited its audiobook. The book won the Business Book of the Year award by getAbstract at the Frankfurt Book Fair in 2024. In addition, she is the editor of Global Data Innovation’s Insider Insights weekly newsletter and Global Data Innovation’s Executive Innovation Briefings for CEOs and Board members in eight industry verticals.

As the Data-Centric Legal Analyst at Global Data Innovation, Isabelle analyzes companies’ data governance practices and, under the direction of Dominique Shelton Leipzig, provides targeted advisory services to CEOs, Board Members, Chief Technology Officers and legal leaders regarding recommended best practices for maximizing exponential growth and minimizing risks.
