Jesús Mantas

Senior Advisor, IBM; Board Member, Biogen

Jesús Mantas serves as an Independent Director and Chair of the Compensation and Management Development Committee in the Board of Biogen (NASDAQ: BIIB), an S&P 500 leading biotechnology company. He also serves in the Advisory Council of the NASDAQ Center for Board Excellence and as a Senior Advisor for leading companies and investors in areas of technology and business transformation. He was a member of the first World Economic Forum’s Global AI Council, leading the first definition of AI governance in the boardroom.

He recently retired as the Global Managing Partner leading IBM Business Transformation Services, an $11B unit of IBM helping clients transform mission critical operations with digital technology and AI. He was responsible for Strategy, Innovation and Corporate Development, where he led the acquisition and integration of over 14 companies. In his tenure in IBM; he has been General Manager of IBM Business Process Outsourcing, General Manager of IBM Consulting in Latin America and Managing Partner of North America General Business among others.

Before joining IBM, Jesus lived in California and was a partner in the High Technology Practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting. He also worked for Ernst & Young and led supply chain systems for Procter & Gamble in Spain.

He is vice-chair of HITEC board, a non-profit focused on leadership development in technology careers; and he is an active Limited Partner and Angel Investor in next generation innovators.

Jesus holds degrees in Telecommunications, and Business Administration by Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, was an adjunt professor at the Graduate School of Management of the University of California, Irvine; and served as an officer in the Air Force of Spain.
