EU policy and legislation consultant (current); Member of the European Parliament (2019-2024)

Josianne Cutajar
Josianne Cutajar is a self-employed EU policy and legislation consultant with extensive legal, political, and public affairs experience. Cutajar studied law at the University of Malta, with her latest graduation being a Master of European and Comparative Law.
At the young age of 22, she was elected as a member of her hometown’s Local Council, where she represented her fellow residents for seven years in a row. Subsequently, at the age of 29, she was elected as the youngest-ever and the first representative from the island of Gozo to represent Malta as a Member of the European Parliament (2019–2024).
During this mandate, she was part of the Socialists and Democrats Group and an active member of the Committee for Industry, Technology, Research, and Energy (ITRE) and the Committee for Transport and Tourism (TRAN).
As a Member of the European Parliament, Josianne Cutajar contributed directly to several key digital legislation initiatives, including the historic EU Artificial Intelligence Act and the Digital Services Act.
